About

Case sensitivity refers to the condition of being uppercase or lowercase (ie lettercase)

For example, in a Latin alphabet:

  • A is the uppercase glyph
  • a is the lowercase glyph.

If a language is:

  • case-sensitive, it will do a difference between them
  • case-insensitive, it will see no differnce.

Example

SQL for instance, is a case-insensitive language.

The following select word are equals:

  • SeLEcT
  • SELECT
  • select
